A Conversation About What Matters To You

A period of change can bring questions about work, relationships or the direction you want your life to take. At Lesley Sayers & Associates, I offer mindset coaching on the Sunshine Coast to listen to what matters, without judgement. My work draws on coaching training and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) principles, with attention to your choices and values.

We might focus on important personal decisions through life coaching, explore your relationship with thoughts and feelings through ACT coaching or make space to plan a transition through change coaching. You choose the subject of our conversation; I contribute questions, observations and practical exercises for consideration.

The first introductory session is free. To ask about coaching, call 0419 845 203 or send an enquiry.

Coaching That Starts With Your Priorities

Coaching is a conversation in which we examine what is happening now, the choices available and the steps you want to consider. I work with individuals who are reflecting on life direction, career decisions, relationships or familiar patterns of procrastination and avoidance. Sessions can also draw on ACT ideas such as noticing difficult thoughts without allowing them to dictate every decision.

Services

  • Life Coaching

I use life coaching conversations to explore the matters you raise about life, career or relationships. Together we consider the choices and possible actions that are relevant to your circumstances.

  • ACT Coaching

My ACT coaching approach introduces ways to notice thoughts and feelings and consider actions informed by personal values. Sessions centre on discussion and practice rather than a promise of clinical results.

  • Change Coaching

Through change coaching, I work with you on a decision, transition or behaviour pattern you want to examine. We discuss your starting point, a possible plan and how you want to review progress.

Why Choose Us?

I bring together a career in education and behavioural support with professional coaching training and ACT-based approaches. That background shapes my interest in how people make decisions, respond to change and identify what matters in daily life. I approach coaching as a conversation led by the client, rather than a programme with a promised result.

  • A space to speak openly: I listen to circumstances you choose to discuss and ask questions without judgement.
  • A clear session process: We discuss your priorities, agree how sessions work and review any actions you choose to take.
  • Flexible contact: Individual appointments are available in person or through agreed phone and video formats.
  • Support between sessions: I provide learning resources and contact between appointments as described in my coaching arrangements.

About Lesley & My Professional Background

My working life began in education. Over more than 30 years with the NSW Department of Education, I worked in teaching, student welfare, special education, learning support and senior behaviour and learning roles. My professional background also includes a Master’s degree in Behaviour and Learning, educational studies qualifications and work advising school staff on behaviour support. Those experiences led me to consider the part that reflection, choice and practical action play in personal development.

I began training with The Coaching Institute in Melbourne in 2009, undertaking practitioner and advanced practitioner life coaching study. I continued my professional development through its Masters Academy and studied ACT-related approaches with Dr Russ Harris. The combination influences the way I listen, question and work with the issues a client chooses to bring into a conversation.

My coaching practice includes discussions about personal direction, relationships, career and workplace challenges, self-image, procrastination and the impact of past experiences. Where someone is also managing clinical or mental health concerns, I keep the distinction between coaching and their healthcare needs clear.

Training, Qualifications & Continuing Learning

My ongoing learning has drawn on life coaching studies, ACT courses and behaviour-focused professional development. The following programmes reflect the subjects and approaches I have studied over time.

  • Life Coaching Certificate IV study, Practitioner in Life Coaching and Advanced Practitioner in Life Coaching, The Coaching Institute, 2009–2012
  • Neuro Linguistic Programming practitioner training, TCI, 2012
  • TCI Deep State Re-patterning practitioner training, 2012
  • Great Relationships Training, TCI, 2012

  • ACT-focused trauma training, 2017, and advanced anxiety and depression training, 2018
  • ACT Brief Intervention training, 2020
  • ACT for Adults with ADHD and ACT for Insomnia training, 2026

ACT training is listed in the supplied documents as ongoing through 2026. I also have professional education and leadership experience that informs my interest in the ways people learn, adapt and make decisions.

What To Expect From Our First Sessions

Our introductory appointment is free and gives us time to discuss why you are considering coaching. I then provide a Client Profile covering relevant areas such as work, relationships, health, leisure and contact details. You can return it before the next session where possible. We also discuss a client agreement, confidentiality and what sessions and between-session resources involve.

In the second appointment, we acknowledge the Client Profile, address questions about the arrangements and begin coaching with the subjects you choose. Sessions are usually 60–75 minutes and are often weekly, although scheduling can be agreed to suit the circumstances. Individual sessions may be in person or by phone, Zoom, FaceTime, Messenger, Skype or Teams, as arranged. Fees and package options are available on enquiry.
